Copied from 110mb GLR forum:Ok - its been a while since I posted or did anything at all on GLR, so I feel I owe you all something of an explanation-cum-apology... here it is: Times are hard; work is busy and at present leaving me exhausted and unsatisfied - I'm meant to be transferring to a different dept soon, so hopefully things will be able to return to normal after that - but for now I just don't have the mental capacity to handle much more than what I'm already doing. I'm also supposed to be moving out soon, so it would make sense to get all of that sorted before I get back on the old GLR hoss so to speak... Anyways - I'm not dead... hopefully neither are any of you. I am reading the stuff you guys post, and listening to the music when I can - so when I sort it all out there'll be a plethora of updates... but yeah... sorry for not replying to much (if anything) - I just find I'm so fuckin' knackered by the time I get home that all my creative spark has just evaporated so watch this space i guess peace and love for now - fight the crunch! alex

Well well well... 6 months later and I'm still MIA so to speak - my bad Being that I still have no internet at the flat, combined with living just below the poverty line means sneaking onto the internet at work when no one is looking, so its going to be an uphill struggle, but as soon as I get my finances sorted I do fully intend to sort this place out and update everything ASAP. As is often the case I'm starting to see places where this place could do with changes - so expect [another] new look GLR some time in the future. I haven't forgotten any of you at all, I'm just being held prisoner by the evil Cpt [Credit] Crunch. Hope all of you are doing well with your individual music projects, I know DD has something in the works and from what I've heard of it so far it sounds pretty fuckin sweet! Speak to you all soon, peas and gloves tD

Ok people - time for a status update. My main goal for the 2010 revival is to get more people involved.. not to the detriment of the site quality, but I feel its important that we have regular and satisfied visitors (so as to get a decent amount of feedback from all the work we've put in over the years), so I've been looking at various ways to achieve this and what follows is basically the master-plan for the entire scope of GLR-world: On the main site I want to condense everything down as much as possible - get rid of all the filler so to speak. I think a minimalist approach is probably best, otherwise there's fuck all chance of grabbing people's attention. I get the impression that there are a lot of words on the front page where we could probably have maybe half as much text and still say the same thing. There will be a new standalone GLR blog page (probably at blog.greenleafrecords.com) where we can collectively post our musings in a way that may garner attention from an otherwise untapped market. I'm not sure precisely what will go up there, but all of you GLRtists have free reign to make guest contributions whenever you want. This will also replace the 'news' box on the front page. The forum (this forum) is fine as it is now that I've made the switcheroo - just needs filling up a bit. I'm on the fence about this next bit, but I think its going to go: GLRtv... the youtube page will remain because we need the videos to use elsewhere on the site (forum, blog etc) but the standalone page with the TV set, whilst kitsch, doesn't really add much to the overall site aesthetic. There will however be video embeds on the new bands pages. The band pages will be getting a pretty big overhaul - lots of changes and improvements to be made there. Luke has suggested a few useful ideas to me, feel free to add any thoughts of your own. I'll be getting heavily into SEO (search engine optimisation) to make sure we can reach as diverse a crowd as possible. Things that will remain the same (unless anyone suggests otherwise) will be the 'DISCOG', 'BAND PORTAL', 'CONTACT/LIVE' pages and the GLR music box. So in all once all this has been done, we will be looking at (another) fresh-faced GLR. But this time one that has been carefully thought out in terms of attracting and most importantly keeping visitors and one that is easier to browse, easier on the eye and easier to swallow. Whew.. lot of work. But worth it In the mean time, I also want to try and get the homegrown CD up together so that we can get our geurilla marketing tactics going in time for the new design. I also want to ask you all a collective favour - GLR needs publicising, so spread the word to anyone you think might be interested. Remember FREE MUSIC is something everyone wants, and more people than we might realise are getting sick to death of chart music and are looking for an alternative. I don't really need to say this, as you all know the score - but in the long run one person's created interest automatically creates interest for the whole group, which is why I've always defined this place as a Co-op' - so to quote Canned Heat: Let's Work Together! so for now paxtD

ok, so its not long now before i feck off to jamaica, so i thought i'd give you all the low down before i go:
this phase of the site is almost done. just gotta finish updating the discog from feb 2010 to now, gotta finish danny dashers page, gotta start (and finish) the deceptionist page and the compilations/collab page.
if i have time i'll make a basic page for the new blog and stick it up, but failing that i'll start it when i get back.
the CDs have arrived for the second batch of Homegrown samplers. so the run goes all the way up to #100 now... just gotta print and burn them
so thats the long and the short of it. take it easy music lovers ;D

ALEX IS AMAZING! EVERYONE ON GLR IS AMAZING.
I have never been so exicted about GLR then I am now.
This is going to reach next level stuff.
I had an IDEA for all the GLR Artists to hold a VOIP PRESS CONFRENCE about the everything GLR. Setup questions for all the artists and let the ARTISTS of GLR SPEAK OUT TOGETHER ABOUT OUR MUSIC/INSPIRATIONS......."what is your secret musical guilty pleasure" All of us can connect over "GOOGLE VOICE/SKYPE"
But all GLR artists must attend together at a certain time. I figure we could hold the press confrence for like 2 + hours and allow a live feed to all visitors/members
cool idea?

Just made a new board under the members section (members section/projects/our favourite things) titled 'Our Favourite Things'. Its password protected, so email me for the password if I haven't already sent it on. Iriiiieee!

music.e-favourite.comthe more people follow this link, the higher GLR gets in their link rankings!! - Send 1 Unique hit and you are on the list right away.
- The more traffic you send the higher your site climbs up on the list.
- As Soon As you send 2 hits, Your link will start to rotate on all pages thus You'll get much more hits than you send us.
- Your site must send 1 hit in a month to stay on the list or it will automatically be deactivated but as soon as you send a hit again it will starts to show up.
- The List is reset every month
The only thing is, this forum is hosted on proboards.com, so I don't know if the above link would count or whether it needs to be on one of the main pages??
