So, the new album is still in-progress - most of the tracks are down in demo form, all thats really left is to finish recording the demos and then get the final tracks down. It's been going almost 2 years now, so when it will be done is anyone's guess really
About the title:
Many of you may be wondering about the meaning of the title; it is not intended to be read as a noun - Ukiyo is not a little-known form of Zen practice - rather it should be thought of as a change in pace: (from) Ukiyo (to) Zen.
The whole album is a concept of sorts, but I'll leave it to you to work out what its really all about when its finally released
..the first demo for you from the new Deceptionist record. the album and this track are still untitled, but this should hopefully give you all a feel for how it might sound.
it is a conceptual album, but the concept (for now) is a closely guarded secret
the theme to this track is banality; the mundane, day-to-day life etc. this track is the basic rhythm, the drums are looped from my yamaha keyboard and the guitar was played through my VOX amp - i used a heavy flanger with low reverb and resonance, high gain, mid, treble etc - medium bass. recorded, funnily enough, using Kristal. hope you will enjoy
lol i cant help posting as soon as i make something..
i've made some additions to the previous song - namely bass, bells and organs, reverse guitar solo.
i felt seeing as the song had developed significantly enough this version would probably be a more accurate reflection of whats to come with the rest of the music
this is still only a demo though, the only things i'll be using from this mix are the solo and drums most likely.
stay tuned music lovers
im listening right now, and it sounds sick as hell. what kind of effect you got going on your guitar?
the rhythm guitar has the gain knob turned to about 70% , bass levels are mid-low, mid and high levels are high. vol. knob on the guitar itself is dropped to about 7
effects-wise it has a flanger with the speed set to a high frequency, with v-low resonance and no reverb.
the guitar solo in the middle-eight has the same EQ, but no flanger on it, and a higher gain level - guitars vol. knob is at 10. i'm also using a crybaby pedal on it.. and then of course its reversed lol
another taster for how its going to sound...
